Together We Stand NC Celebrates 3 Years!
Join us Sunday, July 16, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Durham’s Ponysaurus Brewing for a birthday bash! Together We Stand is celebrating three years as a community connector, conversation facilitator, and unifying force within Durham and greater North Carolina—and we couldn’t have done it without your involvement and support.
Three years ago to the day, TWS held its first-ever rally at Ponysaurus as a way to bring folks of all backgrounds together in a year marked by adversity. Flash-forward to 2023, and TWS has grown to a network of 2,500 across the state. Since the beginning, we have sought to unite our communities regardless of race, gender, or disability. As the great John Lewis said, “We must respect the dignity of every human being.” We want to celebrate the Durham community and ALL who reside here.
And what’s a birthday bash without swag? Our friends at HOKA will be at hand with a pair of shoes to give away. Plus, we’ll raffle off gift cards to Fleet Feet and Ponysaurus Brewing. All you have to do is wear a Together We Stand T-shirt to be entered into the drawing. We’ll also have a new tee (our 10th one!) with a quote from none other than RBG available for sale ($10).
Registration is now open for our Unity 5K and Block Party. The Durham event will take place September 24 at Ponysaurus, and we’ll have additional Unity 5Ks in Charlotte, Greensboro, and Fayetteville. Check our website for more details, and see you July 16!
