Mark your calendars for the 5K for Unity on Saturday July 17, 2021.  Five locations in North Carolina: Divine Barrel Brewing (Charlotte), Foothills Brewing (Winston Salem), Little Brother Brewing (Greensboro), Ponysaurus Brewing (Durham), and Vecino Brewing (Carrboro).  Together We Stand NC has designated July 17th as a day of conversation and contemplation at your local brewery.  Our local breweries are a safe space for all races and sexual orientations.  Come for a social walk/run and stay for the conversation (and of course delicious beer). This is a VIRTUAL RUN/WALK also! Click here to register!

The 2021 Together We Stand shirt is the 3rd in a series of wearable “conversation starters”.  The front of the charcoal heather shirt features our iconic TWS Bull logo and the back features the phrase “Our Lives Begin to End the Day We Become Silent About Things That Matter” (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.). We chose this quote because we believe justice must matter to ALL of us in order for change to occur.

The 2021 TWS shirt is a standard fit, premium Primease short sleeve shirt (4.0oz, 46%Polyester, 27% Cotton, and 27% rayon) with a one-color front and two-color back.  The shirt is soft, breathable, and snag resistant. The unisex shirts have a ribbed crew neck and hemmed short sleeve.

If you don't wish to participate in the walk/run but wish to purchase a shirt, Click here!

TWC-NC is a movement supporting peaceful demonstration and honest, unfiltered conversations to heighten awareness of systemic racism and injustice to communities of color. Given the recent killings of yet more unarmed Black and Latino Americans, the continued importance of community, unity, and conversation is clear.

Our goal the 5K for Unity is to host 5-7 small 5K events across North Carolina at local breweries that are affirming and welcoming to all people.

We aim to bring people of all races, genders, and sexual orientations together to communicate with each other.  Each registered participant will be asked, “Why is this event important to you?” as a catalyst for starting conversation.
